Designed for back boxes in the UK. Delivery to UK only
Save time and money by fixing your metal back box
The common problem
The threads in the lugs securing the socket or switch to the back box can strip, so the screws can’t be properly tightened. Or worse, the lug can break off altogether. The switch ends up loose and wonky. Replacing the back box is time-consuming and costly, especially if the wall has to be re-decorated.
The neat solutions
The Back Box Saver or Back Box Bracket allow the back box still to be used, saving the time, trouble and expense of replacing the back box. The householder is saved the cost and upheaval of re-decoration. Both products are low-cost, easy to install, secure, maintain the earth connection and are designed to repair back boxes installed in the UK.
Back Box Saver works by overlaying a reinforced nut onto the stripped lug to provide a secure fixing for the screw to engage. Back Box Saver fits most lugs and repairs a stripped thread in most cases.
Back Box Saver or Back Box Bracket?
The Back Box Saver can be used in cases where the lug screw thread has stripped.
When the lug is severely damaged or missing altogether, you'll need a Back Box Bracket. This product clips onto the side of the back box, so the edge of the back box must be visible
The existing 3.5mm faceplate screw can re-used in most cases, although a shiny new one is included in the kit.

It also corrects a misaligned electrical socket faceplate quickly and easily
Problem
A badly installed electrical back box can result in a socket faceplate that is too high, too low or sloping. Until now the only proper solution was to dig out and re-install the back box.
Solution
A pair of Back Box Savers, installed on each of the two back box lugs, allow the faceplate to be raised, lowered or tilted by as much as 5mm. For more details on how to use the Back Box Saver, watch our demonstration video.
Please note that the Back Box Saver is designed to repair back boxes installed in the UK only.
