Save time and money by fixing your metal back box

The Common Problem

The threads in the lugs securing the socket or switch to the back box can strip, so the screws can’t be properly tightened. Or worse, the lug can break off altogether. The switch ends up loose and wonky. Replacing the back box is time-consuming and costly, especially if the wall has to be re-decorated.

The Neat Solution

The Back Box Bracket or Back Box Saver allow the back box still to be used, saving the time, trouble and expense of replacing the back box. The householder is saved the cost and upheaval of re-decoration. Both products are low-cost, easy to install, secure, maintain the earth connection and are designed to repair back boxes installed in the UK.

The Back Box Bracket allows the back box to be still used, even if a lug is missing, by providing a new lug that clips and screws into place on the side of the back box to provide a secure fixing for the screw. Back Box Bracket fits most UK back boxes.

Back Box Bracket or Back Box Saver?

For cases where the lug is still present but its screw thread has stripped, the Back Box Saver works by overlaying a reinforced nut onto the lug to provide a new, secure fixing for the screw to engage.

The existing 3.5mm faceplate screw can re-used in most cases, although a shiny new one is included in the kit.
